This past weekend's Iron Bowl put me in the mood to look up a little history around that game.
The excerpts below are from the February 23rd, 1893, Birmingham News. The article was much longer but I thought the portions below stood out. The game itself was not described in deep detail and the scan was unclear in some of those areas, unfortunately.
